Battlefield 2042 would end up being a free-to game
It is no secret that Battlefield 2042 TO one of the worst releases of the franchise, to the point that their forums in Reddit could be closed due to all the toxicity by the community. The game is not as bad as many made it see, but certainly did not meet expectations by much, and EA Obviously that it is not very happy with it.
Tom Henderson, reliable insider and filter of battlefield , states that EA is exploring all possible options as for the future of battlefield 2042. This includes that the Title eventually can become an experience free-to-play. Currently, the game is sold at full price on all platforms where it is available, so it would definitely be a drastic change.
However, it is more likely Battlefield 2042 SEA added to EA PLAY before the publisher decides to convert it into a free experience. It is also worth noting that there are still many important problems to resolve within the game, and EA already promised to solve the vast majority of them. It will be interesting to know what the future holds it to this game, but it should not be so surprising if they actually advertise it as a free-to-play.
Editor’s note: It would make sense that EA decides to convert Battlefield 2042 into a free-to-play game. After all, the community was not very satisfied with this new proposal and surely the sales of the game must be below the Expectations of the Publisher. Obviously, this would also mean that the game would receive microtransactions.
